(Sen đã gửi một lá thư cho Tổng thống Bush (qua hộp thư Nhà Trắng), một lá thư cho Bộ trưởng Nguyễn Thiện Nhân và lá thư cho Thùy Dung, hoa hậu Việt Nam năm 2008. Còn một vị nữa là tỉ phú Mỹ, ông Charles Feeney, một người làm từ thiện nổi tiếng. Sự đóng góp của ông cho Việt Nam không hề nhỏ. Lá thư này Sen viết đã lâu, tiếc là chưa đến được tay ông. Lá thư đã trở thành một “vật chứng lịch sử” ghi dấu những tiến hóa từ tâm thức Sen. Sen xin chia sẻ với mọi người)

Dear Mr. Feeney:

Thank you for your historic visit to Danang , Vietnam on a noble mission. I am especially happy to know that you have done a wide variety of significant things for Vietnam because I also have “cultured scholarly ideals” (these words are for Woodrow Wilson – the 28^th President of the United States ).

As a lecturer in English at the University of Danang and a genuinely devoted life-long learner, I have tried tirelessly to explore issues in Cultural Studies and Education, so that I can contribute further to the friendly relations between Vietnam and other nations in the world, especially America. Thanks to my consistent efforts, I was lucky enough to be selected as the only Vietnamese “International Visitor” to the United States of America in 2005 on the “Multiculturalism in the U.S. Society” program. I am also deeply influenced by the highest level of human needs “Self-Actualization” proposed by Maslow.

It’s my orientation in my life, and I am sure you have the same vision and ambition. I also wish to become an internationally recognized scholar in Cultural and Multicultural Studies or Multicultural Education. Such a line of thinking is a luxury in a poor Vietnam . That’s why I would be very happy if I could receive any kinds of support and assistance from any influential people and “vision” people. Do you feel that our chance meeting in Danang is historic? Do you think I am crazy when I would like to be your adopted child so that I can have a great chance to take loving tender care of you and realize my ideals? I am still determined to go on the way of self-actualization to build a happier, more peaceful and healthier world whatever happens.
